Beautification Grants

Part of the mission of AIMS is to support and sustain downtown culture and one way we love doing that is by supporting our local businesses that really make up the heart of downtown. One way we show our support is by providing beautification grants.

The purpose of these grants is to:

  • Boost local business by enhancing existing storefronts

  • Create a visually appealing downtown environment

For the past couple of summers, AIMS has focused on a different section of downtown to help beautify. Businesses in the designated area were invited to apply for a grant that would assist their storefront with exterior work including but not limited to: painting, landscaping, repairs (doors, windows, etc.) or general façade work. Grants were given in various amounts and all awards were decided by the AIMS Board of Directors.

Beautification of Meridian Street Grant Awards

  • Hoosier Press – the painting of the east-facing exterior wall of Hoosier Press and Creatures of Habit

  • Aerial Fit2Fly – prime and painting of north-facing wood siding

Beautification of Main and Central Grant Awards

  • Pulp & Pine DIY Craft Studio – addition of a 15-foot cedar flowerbox outside their storefront window

  • Collective Roots – painting of a mural on the old “Paradigm Palace” sign that sits in their parking lot along Central Avenue

Stay tuned for future beautification grants!
